We’re experts in three different types of cupping
Dry Cupping
Involves the application of the specialised cups onto the areas of the body that need treating. A light pressure is then created using a special pump, which will create a suction that increases blood flow to the area; causing bruising which draws the toxins in the blood to the surface. This procedure is commonly used by many athletes, footballers etc to prevent and treat muscle damage and improve their mobility.
Wet Cupping
Involves the same process as dry cup. However when the cups are removed, the therapist will make small superficial scratches on the surface of the skin . The cups are then reapplied and the combination of the superficial scratches and the suction will draw out the toxins and diseased blood. This practice is not only heavily used in the Muslim community but is also a popular type of alternative medicine in China and across the world.
Fire Cupping
The more traditional method of cupping whilst dry and wet cupping are the more modern methods. In fire cupping, a small flame heats the air in the cup to create suction, rather than using the pump that is used in wet and dry cupping. The heat that is used works well with relieving tension and stiffness in muscles.
